Meet Alise

Hello! I’m Alise Allen. My first name is actually Rose, after my lovely Great Grandmother. I am ‘Mama’ to two boys and identical twin girls, hitched to the love of my life, Chris. The beach and the mountains are my happy places. I also love a good book, experiencing new cultures, and listening to all kinds of music. I love thai food and good ice cream.

Photography was always something I knew I would pursue. As a teenager, my mother encouraged me to pay attention to thoughts that would fill my mind when I had nothing pressing to think about; to notice what I was drawn to and what I hoped for. Growing up in Lahaina, Hawaii, I would find myself constantly composing photographs in my mind of the most simple and also the most breath-taking surroundings my island had to offer. I wanted to create, and the route that felt most natural for me was with a camera in tow.

Life takes us in so many directions. Life is beautiful, abundant, ever-changing, diverse, crazy, colorful and intriguing. I love highlighting various faces, places and phases of life with a camera. My most favorite is my little Hasselblad medium format camera paired with a roll of good film.
